My mother seems to think I have a gradual version of PTSD? Does PTSD even work that way? I always thought it was due to one single trauma.
But, my father had a stroke when I was maybe 7, and died of its effects when I was 14. He had been in Vietnam, and came in contact with Agent Orange. So, my mother raised me on her own for a while, as well as taking care of my father at times. I believe this stretched her thin, and probably me, and caused some problems between us. I have had 16 inpatient surgeries as well, including one on my spine that needed redone a week later.
