And what about all of Jesus' failed prophecies of the end of the world and returning in his listeners' lifetimes? What about the fact that the messiah was supposed to be a military leader with an earthly kingdom, which Jesus never was? What about "he shall be called Immanuel" which Jesus never was in the New Testament?
Jesus was stabbed, wasn't he?
I think we'd all agree that the end of the world hasn't happened yet, so Jesus could still be right. And Jesus was right, the generation He was talking to saw the destruction of the temple in 70 AD, the question they were asking about.
I agree that the Messiah was predicted to be a military leader with an earthly kingdom, and I still think He will be. I know you might view this as a complete copout, but I'm agreeing with you that this is what was promised so one should expect it to be so.
I'm sure you know that Immanuel literally means "God with us" which is what many viewed Jesus as.
I'm posting this not really to start a fight or to disrespect. To be honest, I'm not sure what to expect.
You should expect to be asked to prove the claims you are making in your religion. You can expect not everyone will be nice about it and they will hold you to a very high standard and the burden of proof. They will hold you to not using circular fallacious arguments and straw men to do so.
People will not just accept a claim you make because you believe in faith that god exists. So you might not understand why but don't assume they will just assume you are right because you say god exists. This is not a pro christian forum so expect that and take a grain of salt with anything anyone says about anything including yourself.
