So he has/had Sleep Apnea, and his brain became slightly de-oxygenated. No gods needed to explain that easy one.
Happens all the time. MRI scans, and PET scans and Neuroscience can, and has, replicated that many times in the lab. No gods involved. It's been debunked. Rats have NDE's. So what.
Yep.
Another symptom of sleep apnea is waking up in sleep paralysis. It is actually very common.
Dritch even describes it perfectly here -
" I use to stop breathing while I slept, and I remember one time I was a sleep, but realized I was fairly lucid, but at the same time I could not wake because I had stopped breathing, I remember trying to wake myself, but couldn't."
He could have just as easily imagined aliens, and he'd now be an alien abduction believer.
Dritch has been duped by his brain doing what brains do when under abnormal sleep patterns. And now he believes in all sorts of crap.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
