So, now there are "legitimate" and "illegitimate" religions? lol, that's a new one.

It can be classified as a religion per the secondary definition as "a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance", but that secondary definition is not the usual definition people first think of when talking about religion.

One of the reasons for the high levels of causalities in these secular conflicts was due to the proliferation of weapons not seen in previous conflicts. So even though there have been less wars caused by atheists, their conflicts have been far more savage.

All you have to look at are the wars caused by secular governments (not just communist as unrationalman stated...he's forgetting the so-called Central American Crisis and the conflicts in Sub-Saharan Africa) in the 20th century to assert control over the population....sad, they likely would have saved the deaths of millions had they just used religion as a form of control.
