In the western world the emancipation of women has progressed centuries ahead of that in the Islamic world, to the point where a woman can lead a state and dictate international affairs on an equal footing to her male counterparts.
Can you imagine a female leader of an Islamic state? What about a leading female cleric? Indeed, perhaps the most dominant section of western society that isn't emancipated are the religious entities that still dominate some sections of society (eg Catholic Church).
I think your comment that women "don't have to work" is actually an insult to those who do and do it bloody well, like my fiancé, who is developing antibioitics that will hopefully one day save millions of lives.
If she were born in an Islamic state, she would have and will achieve nothing her entire life except to spawn more humans and obey her husband.
You're just trying to understand it the way which you want to understand . Islam doesnt prohibit women to work . Islam does not require women to work . A lot of women do want work and work in muslim countries too .
But they are. Do you know what would happen if all women stopped working? You'd only have 50% of the workforce, the world will not be able to go on.
So muslims, just like everyone else, has been benefitting from women's work but refuse to grant women equal statuses as men because "oh, we didn't say you have to work". That's a little childish.
Quote:The primary mission of women is their children . This is essential for healthy child development and a strong family structure .I am a woman and my primary mission is not children.
Quote:You will find muslim female government officials if you examine the history of Muslim countries .Yea exactly, see you guys benefit from the service of women but refuse to say women are equals.
Quote:Actually I dont want to discuss about "government policies" and "how they live their life" . This doesnt bind the essence of Islam . But I can discuss about Quran and what Allah want people to do .
You cannot escape what is happening in the real world though, if a book is incompatible with the world or says things that cannot practically be done, then how can it be written by god?
Ok, let me further illustrate my point about women and work. My family only has daughters, so as a girl if I do not work and my sisters do not work, what is to become of us? Who's going to pay for my school and who's going to pay for the rent? Who's going to pay for the dress I want to buy and the trip I want to go on? So we do have to work, regardless of what the qur'an says, because you can repeat that all you like but the reality is we'd starve to death if we don't.
And when you say men are required to work, what does that even mean? Is unemployment supposed to be illegal? If men do not work what is the punishment.
These are just things that some ancient person wrote down without thinking about how it would affect a 21st century society and the economy.
