This always comes off sounding so desperate as well as lame.
A simpler response to the idea that nothing can come from nothing is to conclude, fine, then everything comes from that which came before. If we go back far enough, it won't always be possible to learn much about what it was which preceded some things but I have faith that the conditions which gave rise to each and every phenomena are always and necessarily the result of adequate underlying conditions.
