The trouble with the 'historical' sources for Jesus is that none of them - not a single one - are contemporary, i.e., written within the purported lifetime of Jesus. Even if we stretch a point and consider the synoptic Gospels as 'historic' accounts (they aren't, they're hagiographies), there were also written decades AFTER the alleged life of Jesus.
We don't have this problem with other figures of antiquity - Julius, Augustus, Jenghiz Khan, and so forth. We have extant examples of things they wrote themselves, or things that were written about them while they were alive, or contemporary statues or coins with their faces and names on them, etc.
We have nothing comparable to the Jesus of Nazareth character.
