This reminds me of AC Grayling's observations of the evolution of gods, and how earlier pagan gods used to physically occupy the natural phenomenon that they were responsible for (rainbow god, thunder god, water god) until people began to realise that they couldn't actually see a water nymph in water or an earthquake man and so elevated god to mountains and eventually way out in to space somewhere. I wonder what hairstyle the christian god has.
