But the fact that quran was written at all has much to do with burning of books.
When Library of Alxenandria was burned by the Arabs as fuel to heat the baths in the city of Alexandria during the first flush of Quanic enthusiasm, this was done on the principle that if a book contains what is worthy of being written, than its contents is by definition already in the Quran. If the book contains what is not already in the Quran, than the surplus is evidently not worthy of having been written. Hence all books that is not Quran can be consigned to the flames.
