Have they ever thought of the actions of others or themselves may of actually solved the problem not god. Or maybe it was chance that something happened. What about all the times he didn't answer?. Be thankful for your friends family, health professionals("answered" prays are usually related to health), they helped you or saved the life not god. That's the thing about having an inscrutable god that only ever works behind the scenes and in "strange and mysterious ways." Prayer always works! Did you get what you prayed for? Let's check the score sheet:
-YES: god answered your prayer!
-NO: god answered your prayer!
-NOT SURE: god answered your prayer!
See? Prayer works!!!
seems we need another thread on the difference between petition and prayer. God always answers "Prayer" in the afirmitive. Petition however can be a little more tricky.

Stop me if you heard this one.
An atheist, a douche bag and a 'morally spiritual' man walk in to a bar....
Then he orders a drink.
Here's one for you. I know you've heard this before but that won't stop me.
Drich, Jesus and the Holy Ghost walks into a bar. The barmaid looks at Drich and says "On your own again tonight, then?"
