One of the biggest problems I have with Christianity is it implies that the here and now is not worth bothering with, that only the "after life" matters. SO many Christians live their lives worrying over where they are "heading" instead of focusing on all those areas of THIS life that could use their help.
That might explain the hypocritical douche baggery I see from the Christian community. Of course there are Christians who are awesome human beings but this is because they choose to be good people to their fellow man. They may give a deity the "credit," but they are responsible for going forth doing good things to improve society.
Truthfully speaking, if you're more focused on heaven and hell and that's your driving force behind how you conduct yourself, you will place undue focus on yourself and not on helping others. It's sad because it cheapens the value of human life and only focuses on "another life." As if this life is pointless.
