Why do guys want to end Christanity?

I don't want to end it. I don't care if people are Christian. I have a few pretty good friends who are Christian. As long as you can be intelligent about it nd you aren't a jerk about your religion, I don't care what you believe. So far, you haven't been too much of a jerk, but you've failed on the 'intelligent' part.

Maybe people used it for evil in the old days, but besides gay marriage (which is basically arguing over a title of two people's union) Christianity doesn't opress anyone. The only religion that cause suffering in the world these days is Islam, they have a verse in their book that says to kill all infedels!!!

The Bible is literally filled with verses that tell us to kill non-believers. And when we've killed up enough of them, we have to start in on killing the believers who don't believe the right way. And then we have to start killing people who made some simple error. Your Bible depicts a pretty damn bloodthirsty god, y'know. I mean, he literally demands animals be killed in his name on a regular basis.

Not to mention, when western civilization as more literalistic about the Bible, we were a lot more bloodthirsty ourselves. I mean, look at the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, the Salem witch trials. Human beings were reduced to property in the US because slavery is acceptable in the Bible. Saying how great the Bible is shows me that you really haven't read it.
