Really?
Because moses had lots and lots of proof of God and the bible describes him as faithful lots of times.
The disciples saw "gross" miracles lots of times, did their faith go out the window?
The game seems to have changed. In the bible God reveals himself to people in crude and obvious ways all the time, and gives people the choice of whether to follow him or not. Some do, others don't, and the ones who do are called faithful.
Now, apparently, to do the sort of thing he did routinely a few thousand years ago would remove the element of faith from the equation and instead of choosing to follow a revealed God, faith has become no more than winning the game of cosmic peekaboo he started playing when jesus was taken up to heaven.
The God character died when the last Babylonian Emperor died with the destruction of the Babylonian Empire. That's why he hasn't said anything since. And guess what? He won't ever be heard from again.
