But you can't base how you think others should act simply upon your own experiences. The brain is complex, and people are diversely hardwired. This means you can't judge how well someone should cope with their emotions.
I mean, I agree that, as a society, we've become a bunch of whiny pussies that our ancestors would laugh at, and it seems that without death looming around every corner, we focus on the trivial. But that doesn't mean one can reasonably expect that others ought to have the ability to cope with situations as well as they have based on nothing more than their own experiences.
