Some people are lost causes. It's worse when they are "family" because, as you say, you are sort of stuck with them to one degree or another.

But anyone who really thinks that a 900 year old man built a big wooden boat and collected all the animals of the earth is an idiot. You can't change him. I'm sorry to tell you that he will remain an idiot. You can dismiss him. "Keep believing your fairy tales, if you like....I'm moving on towards reality." And then don't play his game.
