I did not read the whole post.

But I can tell you that I have some different views from my mum, not on religion but on politics.
I can talk with her forever, and tell her time and time again how her views annoy me, but she has her mind made up.
For a long time we had the same discussion, and I am sure she was just as annoyed with me as I was with her.

It is easier to just not talk about the subject entirely. Your dad now knows how you think about this so let it go.
Also, people need time, maybe he will turn around later. Maybe not. Just let him be.
