Regardless of whether or not one believes in god there is every reason to conclude that the world around us "just happens to be set up in a way that is convenient for us to come to an understanding of it". All that one requires is the equipment we already possess - no matter who or what the designer and manufacturer of that equipment may be. Invoking god here is worse than wrong, it's useless.
The constant speed of light -has- "put up or shut up". So, unless you plan on yanking a living, breathing god out of your back pocket in the next few seconds.....
