There is only one way for the creator of the universe to solve a simple "problem" like forgiveness -- to come up with a plan that is suspiciously in line with Iron Age blood cults? That's all he's got? Did the strain of creation turn him into some kind of imbecile that he is unable to think of an alternative? Is he a cosmic sociopath or prankster? Is he so morally deficient that he doesn't recognize the injustice of "original sin" or "vicarious atonement"? Is he really as idiotic as his followers?
Or does Yahweh (collector of prepuces and keeper of scores) not exist? The pettiness, apparent incompetence, and barbarity you believers ascribe to your god would be a fucking insult to any being powerful and majestic enough to warrant the title.
