No they don't, he lied. Whilst I'm not going to be able to speak for the motivations of every scientist, the overwhelming majority (when asked) state that their motivations are along the lines of adding to the sum of human knowledge, discovering something new, turning over established views and helping people. What you're parroting is a common theistic misrepresentation of scientists in order to demonise them.

Not every day but yes, I get your point, science does change. More accurately, it corrects itself; as new evidence is found, as new tests are completed, as new experiments are formed, as better explanations are formulated, the scientific view of an individual subject comes ever closer to an accurate description of reality. That's the purpose of the scientific method; not just to find things out but to make sure that our discoveries are as accurate as possible, given the knowledge we have at the time. It's a self-correcting, self-motivating, self-advancing methodology.

Meanwhile God and Christianity is never changing.

Rhythm's already done this one but I'll repeat for emphasis: your type of Christianity probably didn't exist 200 years ago and if it did, the doctrine would have been very different as would the actions taken by the adherents.

He also said he was speaking to a former evolutionary scientist who said there's no evidence for evolution, to be fair though I didn't hear much of that story.

And you should stop listening right there. Not only is there an overwhelming abundance of evidence to support the theory, it's the only theory that comes anywhere near close to explaining the observed facts. Science is as sure about evolution as it is about gravity, conservation of momentum or the water cycle.

Your short post is brimming over with disingenuity. I hope it's not going to be typical of your future subject-matter.
