That is a kind of a circular argument.
Basically you are saying, "I don't believe in aliens because I don't believe in aliens".
I was hoping to understand what your actual thinking process is to be skeptical of some extraordinary claims; alien abductions, in this case.
In other words, I was hoping to hear WHY you don't believe in aliens. I already figured you don't believe in them.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
