Page 1 1-7. The whole things starts on a note about wrath being brought down. Sets the tone, gives you an idea of what to expect going forward, eh?
Page 2 2-7 to 2-10 Non Muslims have been cursed by god, blinded, hardened hearts, even those who say they believe do not really believe, they are diseased, and allah will "increase their disease"
Page 3 Qoting the verse becomes tedious, the entire chapter is a long drawn out example of character assassination and open threats -continuing on with intermittant insult rants about the unfaithful and how they will be burned, and how they're horrible people - on and on ad naus. It becomes useless after this chapter to even point out specific instances of threats being made - and the notion that those against whom the threats are made just deserve it - because it;s already been established that they're barely human - just lies made flesh, devils. It becomes useless to point this out - because it;s the chorus of the entire godammned book. Everytime the author runs out of useless drivel he falls back on that, it's almost as if he was stuffing the text to make a wordcount minimum for his publisher. If we removed just the direct threats and bare insults...the Quran would be reduced to the size of a Denny's menu and even that greatly edited selection would still have ignorance on display for us from one sentence to the next. Garbage, garbage, garbage.
Yeah - I can totally see how you missed that, in the first 3 pages, let alone the first 70. Couldn't imagine why anyone might consider the contents to be destructive or harmful.......I mean, it's not like we're the kind of person arguing for tolerance or respect. Besides, who would believe that silly shit anyway, huh? Who would saunter up to the unfaithful, and claim that they were all liars, malcontents, blind, diseased, those of the hardened heart...... those with grudges against god and religion intent only on dividing his good and holy flock and preventiong man from seeing the plain and clear wisdom contained therein? What kind of douche might run with that rather than address the criticism head on?
God's wrath only matters if a god exists, warnings and threats are not bi-products of destruction though they might be precursors, the only physical destruction/violence is what is permissible in the Quran and most of that from what I have read is self defense, save for one part where it says it is okay to slap your wife for being disobedient.
If we were going by fictional/nonphysical destruction then why are you not condemning Lovecraft?
