Judgement day defense strageity [sic] Pt. 2
#23
RE: Judgement day defense strageity [sic] Pt. 2
How bad would a god have to be to do that? No better or worse than any human being, which is unsurprising, to me anyway. What is there to forgive in this example (of not believing, or believing the wrong thing) anyway? What damage has been done, who has been harmed? Why is forgiveness even something we would wonder about in this context? When people call me by someone else's name or send my mail to my neighbors address I don't exactly expect them to stand before me in apology, hoping for forgiveness - let alone in some situation where my refusal to give forgiveness or their refusal to seek it (or an inability on either part to grant or seek the same- for any reason) results in some sort of hellish torment or punitive action -of any kind-.

The whole thing - from the floor to the ceiling- is fucking ridiculous. If we're talking about great gods (and betwixt you and I - we most certainly would be, we both want to maintain high standards in this area) I don't think that any god who's in the business of punitive measure and forgiveness over a discrepency of name, particulars, circumstance, or holy writ needs even apply. There is no "forgiving would make god greater", to me. Even considering forgiveness in this context as a necessity or something to be desired makes god as small as he can humanely be - point of fact, as small as we humanly -are-. That god, the one who burns people for getting his name wrong - is flipping burgers at the McDivinity while more competent deities handle all the heavy lifting and thought.

The people who eagerly do that gods bidding -are even worse-. At least "god" has an excuse, we wrote it as a dunce, a simpleton, a moral midget. It was beyond "his" control. For those who've been washed in the blood....it's a choice they've made. It's one thing to be a fictional dick, after all - and entirely another to be the guy who argues the point of how great said dick is. Any of our musing about this will be rejected, pof course, as they have been before. Apparently, the only person allowed to make subjective statements about the merit or worth of a god is Drich. Which is convenient for Drichs god I suppose, being an avatar of Drich in any case.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
