The left behind scenario of the end of the world could it happen were people vanish no. or the one where people float off no. i'm pretty sure if people floated up from earth at slow pace or even a fast one the change especially for people who have hard time breathing at high altitudes then top that off with people with lung problems they will die.
Ah but my former Christian self would have had the answer. The instance that we get off the ground, we are given new bodies that can apparently handle high altitudes.
