I don't like having people on ignore. They're easier to ignore IMO when there isn't a big button that says something like "HAHA You can't see what this guy posted unless you click her! Do it, click it, you know you want to."

I don't put people on ignoren either. I know fairly well when I can skip a post without even reading it. Or skimming it to see if anything new came up.

Rule of thumbs. If many of these are involved, you can be pretty sure, you don't miss out on something important.
