You can shoot video clearly showing cops murdering a man and they still get off without even a slap on the wrist.Yeah, but with more and more evidence of misconduct, more pressure can be put on the government to modify the rules on how cops respond to incidents and deal with people. I think that dash-cams in police vehicles were implemented to help bolster their cases when arresting suspects, but dash-cams have also helped to show a number of cops abusing citizens and even breaking the law.
We obviously need to work to fix the other half of the equation so that cops are actually held responsible for misconduct and criminal behavior. But I like the idea of putting them under more scrutiny; it's the best way (IMO) to get the data that we need to confirm that we/they are doing things wrong, and look for ways to improve.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
