Understandable that this idea may not go well. I just wanted to create a sort of training wheels for those trapped under religious ignorance.

Of course it doesn't go well, it's against the core values of any free thinker. Plus, it is borne out of the arrogant assumption that a certain group of enlightened people (among which one likes to count oneself) can appoint themselves to feed the lowly deluded masses some crapola they supposedly need because they aren't ready yet for the truth.
