Are you implying, in that last post, that the breeder -thinks really hard about it-....and on the brute force of that thought, it happens? Shit....I've been doing this all wrong, no wonder my costs are through the roof.
That is very simple. For instance, if more milk is desired in cows (because we can sell milk to make a living that way), it would not be very smart to breed a Holstein with Limousine as that would be counter productive for sure. Or similarly, if a work horse is wanted it would not be wise to use a pony on stilts to breed a Belgium. That is quite obvious, I think.
The desired quality is marketable, I suppose, such as milk and butterfat, or show-jumping let's say.
The copyright is there to protect the breeder for his effort in improving what he created to be.
