What makes you think the parents were ignorant? Because you read an artical from some blog and think you have a full understanding of what is going on? Again I showed that her numbers per the artical were doctored... which means you do not even have an accurate view of her situation let alone enough info to judge those who did. If her parents and the doctors let her make this choice it was because a real recovery or real life was not likly.

Her parents were ignorant because they allowed an eleven year-old to make a life and death decision. It doesn't matter what her choice was or what the odds of survival were, she was psychologically incapable of understanding the consequences of her actions, and the parents refused to step in because of wishful thinking that they would be miraculously reunited in a magical paradise.
