They did do something: they stopped their child from taking chemo, against her best interests, and sent her to some charlatans to do some nebulous kind of "healing" to her, possibly because she mentioned Jesus, possibly because they're credulous buffoons with no understanding of medicine but enough arrogance to think they know everything. The point is, they abused their authority and now, as is so usual when the religious eschew science for their faith, someone is dead.
