Who else could? Not questioning authority figures is basically a beeline for abuses of that same authority, especially if that authority you're not allowed to question imbues itself with the right to decide what is and isn't righteous and just; you're basically saying that god says he's righteous and just, and god says not to question god, so... he must be righteous and just, because you can't question him.
Besides, are you actually saying that what those people did, whatever social engineering went on at that church, it was enough to earn a death sentence?
Quote:As for your wife, I'm sorry she is suffering so and if you had taken in all I wrote you would see that I believe most sickness is not a punishment from God, and since you seem to missed it I'll repeat it , God will be with those who suffer if they will allow Him to.
You seem to have missed my point too, which is that as someone who lives in close proximity to a person suffering from chronic disease I understand both the toll it takes on that person, and on the people who love them. You say god doesn't inflict every instance of disease, but you do believe he inflicted some specific instances in your life, and from my position that's an absolutely monstrous thing to do, partly because nothing that went on in that church could possibly justify this kind of "punishment," and partly because illness doesn't just affect the people who are ill, it also hurts their families, meaning that god is also punishing the innocent people around the "guilty" party. That's inexcusable collateral damage.
