So you deny we hold meaning in our relationships? That's a mighty tall claim. The very fact we DO see meaning behind our love debunks any claim contrary. As to the views expressed here sounding like someone who has never lost anything they loved....it's hard to be polite to something so offensive, so I'll just say that the loss of a loved one is in NO WAY demeaned by atheism.

Well, you tell me: if atheism is true, what meaning can there be? And I don't deny your relationships have meaning. On the contrary, it's my philosophy that gives them meaning...even more than Christianity does.

As it turns out,I've been in love more than once,as well as married and divorced. The first time was at 20,when I was still a theist. The last time was from age 46 to now. (I'm 62)

The euphoria of being in love was the same,as theist or believer. The depth of attraction,liking,respect,attachment and commitment was the same,as theist or atheist.The anguish of loss was as visceral as theist or atheist.

So, you're the one devaluing your relationships; I'm the one giving them meaning.
