Um no, utopias are nothing to strive for, that is simply delusional.
Improving does not involve seeking unrealistic and fictional things. Heaven and Hell, and the land of Oz and magical good witches are utopias.
Better management of reality doesn't mean ignoring reality.
I'd suggest if you have not, read the opening of "The Greatest Show On Earth" by Dawkins. Plato used to be my hero until I read that. Utopias do not exist anymore than with energy transfer you can have 100% input and 100% output.
Improving human understanding does not need to employ a superstitious comic book word like "utopia".
