There was a service for a 22 year old man from work who had died of cancer leaving an extremely young son and distraught wife.
It took the priest about thirty seconds into the service to make it all about god then never mentioned the poor young man again.
It went something like this.
"We are gathered here on the sad occasion of the death of Ben to commemorate his life"pause" and its at times like this, when we feel grief, that we can understand how god must have felt when his only son jesus was cruxcified........." etc etc.
I experienced the same bullshit when my cousin died from a motorcycle accident. I wanted to beat the shit out of the preacher.
