I tell friends and family just to do what provides them comfort when I die. I would rather that they take the time to remember me occasionally(maybe with an alcoholic drink) rather than have a wake.
Burying a loved one is a very surreal experience. The mortician at my mom's funeral actually told us that he didn't advertise because he relied on return business. Um...okay. My sister and brother also wanted a casket in my mom's favorite color, light blue but mom was dead and didn't really give a damn what we did with her body.
