What I understand about weddings is the wanting to celebrate your relationship with the people that you love so in that respect I get the party aspect of it. What I don't get is the cost sunk into the dress you wear for one day, the flowers that will die in two days, the decorations that you buy and then have to figure out what to do with later so you just pile it up and sell it at a garage sale when an "appropriate" amount of time has passed, etc.
I especially don't understand those "Get the Best Dress!" shows on TLC or whatever it's called. Women go and pick out a $5000 - $25,000 dress they literally wear once, and then what do you do with it? Nothing.
Waste of money.
