RE: Damned Muslims

Not "Muslims" yes, currently they are still in the dark ages. But the concept that morality of a holy book allows anyone of any religion to treat kids as property like things, then you need to review your concept of morality. Kids do need structure but they still are individuals, not property.
The bible has plenty of vile verses giving authority to parents to abuse them and treat them as property.
This concept stems from a past where the human mortality rate even in polytheism was much higher so it was more important back then that everyone stayed in line. The "obey your parents" is not a concept unique to Islam or even monotheism. But the God of Abraham certainly is glossed over by his fans when it comes to the nasty parts of those books that do treat kids like property.
Oops got ahead of myself here. Sorry. Still this is bad too. Kids adults whatever, if you have to resort to violence to make a point, to me you have lost the argument.
But for the same reason Eric and Dillion shot up the highschool, this is really not that different. You feel like an outcast, you want to belong to something or make a name for yourself you end up following the wrong people.
