Memories Pizza, a takeout restaurant in Walkerton, Indiana, has closed its doors following outrage over remarks the shop owner made regarding same-sex marriage.
Early Wednesday, one of the shop's owners Crystal O'Connor said she would refuse to cater a same-sex wedding as the shop was a "Christian establishment." Phone calls and social media responses over the remarks have now forced the restaurant to shutter until temperatures cool.
Co-owner Kevin O'Connor, whose relation to Crystal is unclear, said Memories is "temporarily" dark until "threatening" calls and online posts die down, according to TMZ.
Bout fucking time. These assholios need to understand the message that this is the sort of crap that will NOT be tolerated by the masses.
I really wish I could say the following to their faces:
You wanna say you don't support gay marriage, that is your right. You want to refuse service to the LGBT community, that is also your right. Just as it is the public's right to speak out against you for your views. I wish someone would demand an answer from these shop owners asking them to give just one example as to what someone's preference in a partner has absolutely ANYTHING to do with what they sell in their establishment. There isn't one because there is no justifiable reason to turn someone away simply because of who they choose to love. This is just another attempt to push this country's progress back 60 years.
Those people who align with your so-called "christian" views are nothing but turd burglars who happily sit in judgment of someone who is different than they are, but who fail MISERABLY to honor a so-called Bible they adamantly believe in. They pick and choose which parts of the book of fairy tales they wish to follow. Then they have the audacity to scream they are the ones being persecuted for their beliefs. HOW THE FUCK do you come to THAT conclusion?
Finally, you, pizza owner overlooked one very important thing - IT IS THE PUBLIC who provides your paycheck for you and your employees. You cut your nose to spite your face, all because you couldn't keep your mouth shut. You caused this shitstorm. Your "free will" has determined your demise. Where's your god now? Is he going to send jeebus to turn your water into wine so you can drink away your sorrows? Is he going to feed your employees now that they no longer have jobs, thanks in huge part to you? Yes, you have freedom of speech and blah, blah, blah but you should have thought it through more before you decided to wreck your lives and those who work for you.
You got what you deserve and I'm not one bit sorry for it. I hope you can sleep at night knowing that you are willing to lose your own business over belief in a god who would have you so brainwashed that you can't see your ass from a hole in the ground and the grave mistake you made today.
