Well put it this why the pope knows evolution to be true he said it in a way to make it look like god is guiding evolution.
Evolution as it stands now currently humans in the near future possibly now in a few years are going to augment themselves with 
computer components to better enhance our quality of life. 

Isn't that kind of like Intelligent Design?

No evolution only really does help change us physically to help us adapt to the environment.
Glow fish they do not naturally occur in nature we have genetically modified fish with jellyfish dna to create glow fish.
The fact being is there is no such thing as intelligent design because here is one key point. If there was a intelligent creator
why do we share dna with everything on the planet with slight difference? The thing is everything in the world is really related to one another
though how common our dna is and the only thing is is the minor differences make a major change.
