So...just as an example..if you moved from Podunk, to DC....you would have a similar experience even moving within the states. You might have just come from Podunk, Earth...to the Big City, is all. Large numbers (like large pops) drive towards an average.
DC aint the south, btw.....DC is pretty much universally hated by "the south" - it's one of our strongest traditions.
I spent time in Alabama, North Carolina, Virginia (those people are scary), and visited Florida.
