If I had kids, I don't think I'd want to make up stories about Santa. I think my wife would feel differently! Luckily we're not having little bastards kids. I'm not fond of lies, even "harmless" ones. But I don't consider it to be a huge deal, I suppose it could even be used as a weird lesson in critical thinking.
