We used to do that at the Word of Faith churches I used to go to. If you look at my awful handwriting you might say I write in tongues. Wonder how to say fuck you in tongues.
The first time I heard somebody say Benny Hin was preaching on TV, I misheard and thought they said Benny Hill. I said get outta here. My mother and them like to listen to Creflo Dollar. That man's name is an insult to my intelligence. I guess it's wrong to judge someone by their name, but still, a televangelist named Dollar? I would have at least changed my name.
Yep, there was a lot of speaking in tongues and I don't know what to call it but 'touching and fainting' at some of the churches we went to but the Baptist one they go to now is not like that, but still relatively happy-clappy. I tried speaking in tongues once and it's pretty easy to just talk gobbledegook and make it sound like a language, so that never convinced me at all as being divinely inspired, even when I was a Christian i.e. mine didn't sound any different to theirs and I knew mine was bullshit

Don't get me started on televangelists. Everyone knows Billy Grayam was a fake - that there were stooges in his audience - but unfortunately my dad sees all that sort of stuff as, well, the Gospel Truth.
