Blah, blah, blah, yada-yada-yada. I am so sick of hearing it!! Every day, from strangers, on TV, on newscasts.....AHHHHRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!
I hear it in NC a lot also. Even people who aren't overly religious sometimes say it. When I was a kid, I don't remember anyone saying it. Maybe people are trying to be religious without mentioning god or Jesus?
I was raised in a Christian home. My father was Baptist and my mother is from a Pentacostal-Holiness background. I remember distinctly never ever hearing "have a blessed day" in any normal conversation either at home or in my social circles when I was a teen in high school, and back then I was involved with a group of kids from a Missionary Alliance church. Never heard any of them say that. It seems to be a more recent development within Conservative circles. Distinct evidence of evolution of religion.
