But does he explain how they all died out? Because you would think that anything in the last 6000 years that would cause a large successful clade to become extinct would be pretty easy to spot, and nothing's coming to mind. Why, you'd think there'd be a just-so Bible story somewhere in the OT or something. Maybe it just wasn't as important to god as why snakes crawl on their bellies.
