I really think that Ham is a charlatan out to make money on ignorant young earthers. He can't be unaware of how or why scientists date fossils. 
How does this work exactly?

Hey, it's a job.  The pay is good and the work is light.
All you have to do is suppress any sense of equity, justice or correspondence with reality.
