Rek: it's up to the person making the claim to provide evidence. Proving those events didn't happen is (currently) impossible, but that doesn't mean they did happen. That is the argument from ignorance.

It may well be that they didn't happen, but it is impossible to prove they didn't happen. That is the possibility you are ignoring when you present only two options: I can prove you wrong, or you are right. Those are not the only two options. There isn't always evidence for every true statement.

I understand this all sounds a bit weird to someone unfamiliar with logical fallacies, but it's very important. Without understanding why this argument is invalid, meaningful conversation simply cannot progress. I made a video on this very subject a little while ago. Thanks for reading my website.
