In a national election? Never. I gained the ability to vote in '98. No one the GOP has put on the national stage since then has been remotely palatable.
Locally, it's a different story because NH doesn't have many bible thumpers or other idiots. We're primarily Catholic and Protestant, but adherents in both sects run the gamut politically. That said, I have noticed an increase in Tea Party dolts even in local races. It seems that the plan is for the national GOP to poison the well locally, which is disappointing.
We really need a rational 3rd option. Conservatives who acknowledge science and don't try to pass legislation to push our society back 2000+ years. Where no one would utter something like 'legitimate rape' and actually, seriously mean it.
