That's the part which never has and never will make sense. For some reason, God's plans are all overly complicated for an all-powerful being. I mean, take the Noah myth for example. Everyone on earth was evil & wicked except Noah and his family, so instead of God just zapping all those evil people out of existence or simply making them die from some disease, he comes up with this convoluted plan of flooding the world and having Noah build this huge boat, then gathering two of every animal on board. It's like his miracles only work if they're totally and completely complicated.
