While I also interpret those verses literally, I'm not as hardened as my other believers in my response to them. I believe God has made himself known in his invisible qualities through what we can observe in nature (our existence and the universe itself which is whole other debate) and from mankind's conscience. You've asked them, I've asked them, every thinking person asks them. They boil down to these four fundamental questions; origin, meaning, morality and destiny. How did I come into being? What brings life meaning? How do I know right from wrong? Where am I headed after I die?
I believe that these are the invisible qualities of God that all man knows, whether answering those questions lead them to God is another story.

We are not made happy by what we acquire but by what we appreciate.
