I like Vice, at least those on HBO cuz I don't watch it on yt. Like the last episode that was about Aceh in Indonesia. They featured how mentality of the people changed after 2004 tsunami that was blamed on people wearing western cloths, playing domino, having gay relationships, men talking to women that were not their wives and similar Biblical and Quranic nonsense. And when you see they even have religious police that patrol streets and arrests people and even whips them for doing stuff described above you feel like you're watching some exaggerated dystopian SF movie.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
