This was the r's shutdown..that they could have ended at any time without any help from the d's. The d's didn't have the power to extort a fuckin thing. It's only by capitulation that they will now own it. The 18 no votes (some of them r's...wishing that the deal could be made even more cruel) are the only people worth a shit.
